Targeted carcass weights for the best quality both visual and eating experience range from 750 pounds to 850 pounds. Live animal weights are 1200 to 1350 pounds. Only Steers are used in meat production. Age, at time of slaughter ranges from 20 to 30 months. We can provide grain or corn fed finished steers if requested.
Fear Free Meat
Our cattle are butchered in the most stress free method possible. The butcher takes the animal in an open field and they experience no fear during the process. And if any one imagines the shear panic most cattle experience at industrial slaughter houses the end product is almost impalpable. Beside the humane aspect there is also a great health risk associated with meats containing large doses of adrenaline.
